In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to perform a crash reset using OBDSTAR tools, including P50 airbag reset tool or KEYMASTER G3.
This tutorial covers required tools, connection methods, fault code diagnosis, and how to erase crash data safely and efficiently.

OBDSTAR P50 (or KEYMASTER G3)
High-power DC regulated power supply
Main cable
P004 jumper

XPENG Airbag ECU 6590001DB1-00-01
Step 1: Access the Airbag Reset Function
Power on your OBDSTAR device.
Tap [Crash Reset].
Select [AIRBAG RESET] from the menu.
To save time, you can enter the ECU part number 6590001DB1-00-01 in the search box located in the upper-right corner to quickly locate the correct module option.
Step 2: Select Bench Mode and Adapter
Choose [BENCH] mode.
Select [P004] as the adapter.
Tap [Guide] and carefully review the:
Menu description
Operation instructions
Wiring and connection diagram
Ensure all connections are correct before proceeding.
Step 3: Read ECU Information
After proper connection:
Tap to read the ECU information.
Verify that the detected airbag part number matches 6590001DB1-00-01.
This confirms successful communication with the module.
Step 4: Read and Diagnose Fault Codes
Next:
Select Read Fault Codes.
The system will display existing DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
If you attempt [Erase DTC] at this stage and receive a Failed message, it indicates that crash data is stored in the airbag ECU.
Step 5: Erase Crash Data
To remove stored crash information:
Select [Erase Crash].
Wait for the system to display Operation Completed.
This clears the crash event memory from the module.
Step 6: Clear DTC and Verify Reset
Operate [Erase DTC] again.
Re-read the fault codes.
If the crash-related DTC has been successfully erased, the reset process is complete.
