OBDSTAR TC298 TC299 Locked ECU Read/Write Update

OBDSTAR has expanded its support for Bosch TC298 and TC299 locked ECUs, giving technicians another option for handling ECU data on the bench.

With this update, users can unlock the supported ECU in BOOT mode first, then read and write its data through BENCH mode. After BOOT unlocking is completed, there is no need to reopen the ECU for subsequent data read/write operations.

How Does It Work?
1. Unlock the ECU in BOOT Mode
First, connect the supported Bosch ECU and follow the corresponding BOOT wiring diagram to complete the unlocking process. This step is required before BENCH data read/write becomes available.

2. Read and Write Data in BENCH Mode
After the ECU has been unlocked, switch to BENCH mode to perform the supported data read/write operations. You do not need to reopen the ECU again for these operations.

This makes subsequent ECU data handling more convenient, especially when several read/write operations are needed during a repair or programming job.

Please note that support depends on the specific ECU type and software protocol. Not every model or ECU from the brands listed above is supported. Always check the ECU identification and the available protocol list in your OBDSTAR device before operation.

Important Notes

• BOOT unlocking is required before BENCH read/write.
• The ECU must be one of the supported Bosch TC298 / TC299 types.
• Use the correct wiring diagram and follow the on-screen instructions.
