How to Resolve Ford Lear BCM Error 35 on OBDSTAR DC706

This is a quick technical notice for anyone working on a Ford BCM Lear module using OBDSTAR DC706 (or KeyMaster G3) and encountering Error 35 during connection.

If you are dealing with Ford Lear SPC560B64 + 95320 or Ford Lear 9S12XEP768 (including the 9S12XEP768 Ranger version), and the BCM fails to connect while showing Error 35 on OBDSTAR DC706, the most likely cause is selecting the wrong BCM type in the software.

Although these BCM units look almost identical externally—same housing, same connectors, and similar layout—their internal architecture is completely different. Choosing the incorrect BCM option will result in communication failure.

These Ford Lear BCMs can come in white or black cases, but the case color does not indicate the internal type and should not be used as a reference.

The images below show both versions for comparison.

Always verify the BCM model carefully and make sure the correct BCM option is selected in DC706 programmer before proceeding.
