During a recent service, our team used the OBDSTAR DC706 device to clone the ECU of a 2017 Ford Explorer with the M799G model ECU (serial number 957490073850). The ECU is a Continental FoMoCo unit, part number A6SXN24563100.
The customer asked if the ECU could be read and cloned using DC706 full version. However, attempts to read the ECU failed due to incorrect programming instructions and the TCU not waking up as expected. This issue indicates that the current software version of the DC706 does not fully support this specific M799G ECU model.
Our technical team confirmed that this ECU model is still under development for full compatibility. At present, devices like DC706 only support certain ECU models such as the DQ381 series. For the M799G ECU, additional unlocking or special functions may be required to enable successful reading and cloning.
