A recent technical inquiry regarding OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus software versions highlights an important aspect of the company’s product ecosystem. A customer reported that after purchasing an upgrade, their device remained on V30 software while newer V40+ updates were available through other channels.
Our official support response clarified that this is normal operation, explaining that the X300 DP Plus and other diagnostic tools operate on different software platforms. This platform separation means that specific device models receive tailored update schedules and version distributions, even when newer software is available for other products in the OBDSTAR lineup.
October 2025 Dash Upgrade Announcement introduced significant enhancements including BESTURN V41.33 with additional ECU information and diagnostic trouble code erasure functions, plus multilingual support. Similarly, CHANGAN V40.18 expanded ECU info capabilities across all models. However, these specific updates were not simultaneously released for the X300 DP Plus update service platform.
