In this guide, we demonstrate the complete Chevy Malibu all keys lost programming procedure using OBDSTAR G3. The process includes reading the BCM PIN code, erasing previous keys, and programming a new proximity key.

Tool: OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3
1. Read GM BCM PIN Code
First, enter the immobilizer function [IMMO] → [Americas ]→ [GM]
Before programming a new key, the vehicle security PIN code needs to be obtained.
Follow these steps
1. Select Read PIN Code by OBD BCM.
2. Choose Auto mode.
3. Turn the ignition on according to the tool instructions.
The tool will automatically identify the BCM model information.
Read and save the PIN code for the following programming steps.
2. Enter Key Programming Function
After obtaining the PIN code, return to the GM immobilizer menu, then select Manual vehicle selection.
Next choose [Chevrolet] → [Malibu] →[Proximity Key] → [2017-2025]
Select All Keys Lost.
Confirm to erase all previously registered keys.
3. Erase Lost Keys and Add New Smart Key
During the programming process, press the Start/Stop button once.
Then place the new smart key in the vehicle sensing area. (For this vehicle, the emergency sensing area is located under the cup holder.)
Next enter the previously read PIN code.
After that the system will begin security verification.
Note: The vehicle requires approximately 12 minutes waiting time to verify the PIN code and erase old keys.
4. Program the New Smart Key
1). After the security verification is completed, press the Start/Stop button twice within 5 seconds.
If only one key needs to be programmed, select No when asked to add another key.
2). Turn the ignition off.
3). Press and hold the Start/Stop button for around 12 seconds.
4). Release the button and continue according to the tool instructions.
5). Turn the ignition on again.
6). Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
7). Press the lock and unlock buttons on the smart key to complete the process.
The all keys lost programming is complete
The operation itself is not complicated, but patience is required during the 12-minute security access process.
